Who Do You Say I AM?

Truth in Palmyra

Who we think Jesus is matters. It matters what WE think, and it matters that we think of Him the right way. Great thoughts here from Unashamed of Jesus. Comments closed here; blessings and enjoy.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Matthew 16:15

Who do you say Jesus is? This is what Jesus wants to know, he is not interested in what you heard from your pastor or what you read online, he wants to know what do you think? In your heart, mind, and soul who do you say Jesus is?

This is what Jesus asked his disciples, they began echoing thoughts and rumors they heard from around them. They said we heard you were John the Baptist resurrected, some were saying you are the prophet Jeremiah, others are saying you are the prophet Elijah, but Jesus doesn’t care about hearsay , he…

Romans 15:4

Romans 15:4  (NIV)
4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Meaning comes from “Life Application Bible” – The knowledge of the Scriptures affects our attitudes towards the present and the future.  The more we know about what God has done in the years past, the greater the confidence we have about what he will do in the days ahead.  We should read our Bibles diligently to increase our trust that God’s will is best for us.

The Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving earth.  He has written everything we need to know to get us through life in His Book, all we have to do is follow it.  Now there will be people saying no there are easier ways, but I don’t know about you, I WANT TO FOLLOW GOD’S WAY AND END UP IN HEAVEN, then take a easy way out and take a chance and not end up with God at all.  Amen!

Faith In Action-What Is Pure Religion

Truth in Palmyra

faith in action

James 1:26,27

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Read James Chapter 1 here

James is about to dive full force into the practical application of Christian faith in the life of the believer, and he begins his dissertation on this subject with this passage. Here, we begin to enter some territory which has been considered controversial off and on in theological disputes.

Any true believer knows that man is saved solely by the grace of God, and not by any works we have done or can do. Ephesians 2:8,9  teaches that clearly of course. But here we have James, a most Jewish of Jews and…

Jeremiah 17:9-10

Jeremiah 17:9-10  (NIV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
10 “I the Lord search the heart
and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”

Meaning comes from “Life Application Bible” – God makes it clear why we sin– it’s a matter of the heart.  Our heart have been inclined toward sin from the time we were born.  It is easy to fall into the routine of forgetting and forsaking God.  But we can still choose whether or not to continue to sin.  We can yield to a specific temptation, or we can ask God to help us resist temptation when it comes.

These words  But are never truer.  All we have to do is ask God to help us to resist sin.  It is hard, but living a life for Christ is so much better.  But, believe me….. Satan will try to get in your life if you let down your guard just a little.  So here’s a saying from my church.

Build the walls higher and higher so Satan can’t get in! Amen!

Today’s Fragrance: Growth In Christ I

Papberry

“They go from strength to strength.”Psalm_84:7

They go from strength to strength. There are various renderings of these words, but all of them contain the idea of progress.

Our own good translation of the authorized version is enough for us this morning. “They go from strength to strength.” That is, they grow stronger and stronger. Usually, if we are walking, we go from strength to weakness; we start fresh and in good order for our journey, but by-and-by the road is rough and the sun is hot, we sit down by the wayside and then again painfully pursue our weary way.

But the Christian pilgrim having obtained fresh supplies of grace, is as vigorous after years of toilsome travel and struggle as when he first set out. He may not be quite so elate and buoyant, nor perhaps quite so hot and hasty in his zeal as he…

The Blessings of Spring ~

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

The Blessings of Spring ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

~ The Blessings of Spring ~

There are many blessings,
that each new Spring brings
you can see it bloom about
and hear the song it sings.

With winters bleakness over,
and brighter days ahead
comes promises of new life
Springtime loves to spread.

As God unfolds the flowers,
and their buds begin to show
He gives to us the assurance
grace in our hearts will grow.

He sends us the robin’s song,
with the promise to provide
a shelter under His mighty wing
where in His love we can abide.

He melts the snowy covers,
and sends the refreshing rain
sprinkling us with His mercies
to heal winter’s ache and pain.

God’s given to all His Son,
to shed upon us a new light
and the real blessing of Spring . . .
is keeping Jesus in our sight!
