The sacred Garbage Man

Truth in Palmyra

If a picture paints a thousand words, then this one is a whole tome in itself~~

W. Eugene Smith WORLD WAR II. // The Pacific Campaign. June 1944

What’s OUR history? Great convicting and encouraging thoughts here from Dawn at Inspiration With an Attitude. Comments close here; blessings and enjoy.

This photo from World War 2 is iconic and, in my mind, is one of the most important comments on war in general.  The picture, by W. Eugene Smith, is of an American Marine finding a desperate infant still astonishingly breathing among the dead in Saipan. They passed the baby from soldier to soldier until the child arrived at the top of the hill.  I wish I could find out whatever happened to the child, but have not been able to do so as yet.  Perhaps the child’s history is now lost to us.

Faith In Action-The Tongues of Teachers

Truth in Palmyra

faith in action

James 3:1,2

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

 Read James Chapter 3 here

Why does James lead off a passage detailing the misuse of the tongue, and our speech, with an opening sentence about masters, or teachers? That is a good question, so let’s explore it briefly. There are several possible applications of this teaching.

Teachers shall receive the greater condemnation. Teachers should be persons of great Christian maturity, and the ability to speak proper things in a proper way is a sign of that maturity. Anyone who places themselves in that position will be held to a high standard of judgment for the things they say while in that position. Here is a good…

On the 6th day

This little girl was dump in the middle of the desert.  my friend and I rescued her and gave her a home after seeing her sibling being hit by a big truck on a side rd.  What happen to taking care of God’s creature’s?

Genesis 1:28  (NIV)
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Meaning comes from “Life Application Bible” – To rule over something is to have absolute and control over it.  God has ultimate rule over the earth, and he exercises his authority with loving care.   When God delegated some of  his authority to the human race, he expected us to take responsibility for the environment and the other creatures that share our planet.  We must not be careless and wasteful as we fulfill this charge.  God was careful how he made this earth.  We must not be careless about how we take care of it.

It’s a shame that God’s world has gone down hill, specially when it comes to God’s animals.   Abandoning puppies so they can get hit.  we were even told a story about how this couple threw some puppies away in the trash.

Please take responsibility for your animals!  Get them fixed!  Don’t throw God’s creatures away in the trash.  Do the right thing and take them to the Humane Society.   Don’t be left with a horrible memory of seeing a puppy hit by a truck.

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom…”

Here is a quote from this great post by Insanitybytes. Some words to think of for tomorrow as we observe Resurrection Day. Comments closed here; blessings and enjoy.

Today. No reason to wait until you die, that invitation is for today. We are invited into life and life abundant, to be seated in victory right beside Him.

Happy Good Friday. What an incredible, amazing, paradox today is. I’ve long said faith is all about embracing the paradoxes, about two things being true at the same time. Jesus is crucified today and while remembering can sometimes be a somber affair,  we also call it, “Good” Friday.  It is the good news because our eyes can see two things at the same time, Jesus dying on the cross, but also salvation, humankind redeemed, us being invited back into right relationship with God, and eternal life. Life and life abundant.

We look at…

“On The Third Day”

“On The Third Day”

Easter’s Meaning to Me
By Sharyl Johnson
Easter, isn’t about rabbits and candy.
It’s, about remembering Jesus, and His

I’ve been waiting a long time, to write a message about this wonderful day. I never got to when I was filling in for my pastor. I hope you like it.

“On The Third Day”
Luke 24:46-47 (NIV)
46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

He suffer for us, so we wouldn’t have to. As long as we confess our sins, and ask forgiveness. Just think of how many are going to suffer because they don’t believe.

After the cross he was put in a tomb, where he was guarded. Short time later a wonderful surprise had happen!

Mark 16:5-7 (NIV)
5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
Boy… I bet they weren’t expecting that..

Acts 4:33 (NIV)
33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.

An we must continue to share His Word with everyone.
Just like Jesus, His greatest day was when He was Resurrected, and our greatest day will be the day we get to join Him.

(This was written back in April of 2017 when I was writing longer messages before I had my surgery, and the poem is out of my book that is no longer in print called: God Is Speaking)

Who Do You Say I AM?

Truth in Palmyra

Who we think Jesus is matters. It matters what WE think, and it matters that we think of Him the right way. Great thoughts here from Unashamed of Jesus. Comments closed here; blessings and enjoy.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Matthew 16:15

Who do you say Jesus is? This is what Jesus wants to know, he is not interested in what you heard from your pastor or what you read online, he wants to know what do you think? In your heart, mind, and soul who do you say Jesus is?

This is what Jesus asked his disciples, they began echoing thoughts and rumors they heard from around them. They said we heard you were John the Baptist resurrected, some were saying you are the prophet Jeremiah, others are saying you are the prophet Elijah, but Jesus doesn’t care about hearsay , he…
